Editor’s Note: You guys, this post came to me with like a zillion links, which was so awesome and probably took a shit ton of time, but I cannot figure out how to make it all work and in attempting to, the formatting got difficult, and seriously, how is it even POSSIBLE that I have had a blog for three years and am so BAD at it? Anyway, all of this to say, Kathryn is awesome and I suck, but you can watch the episode online and just pretend she posted it for you, okay?
Season 5 has begun and the original Fab Four are back in action and up to their old tricks. No, not The Beatles! The original four judges of The Voice! Both Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera are back to prove that their desire to take home a win hasn’t been stifled by their year away. Adam Levine continues to sway contestants with his muscles, smile, and “Moves Like Jagger” while three-time winner Blake Shelton uses his country charm to let contestants know he thinks it would “Sure Be Cool If You Did” join his team.
After the superstars performed “I Love Rock n’ Roll,” the cutthroat competition — complete with begging and pleading for the talented contestants to join each coach’s team — was officially off and running.
Kat Robichaud | “I’ve Got the Music in Me” by The Kiki Dee Band
Kat was dubbed “Raspy McRasperson” by Adam Levine after her performance that turned three chairs – Christina, Cee Lo, and Blake. This North Carolina girl stopped performing with her cover band in order to settle down with her husband. However, the death of her father called her back to the stage and she made the decision to rejoin the world of performing. After Blake admitted he was not the right coach for her, it was Cee Lo that won her over with this statement: “You engulfed me, you set me on fire.” Those words made her the first member of Team Cee Lo.
