Hey, hey, New Girl fans! Your fave recapper Bethany is taking on the recap of this week’s episode of Glee, so I’m just pinch-hitting and getting the discussion started for your favorite adork—ah, you thought I would Bethany’s hated descriptive, right? Nope. I’ll just say the show is charming and leave it at that.

This episode was all about timing: Are Paul and Jess on the same page romantically? Will Nick make his flight in time? Will Winston be in the right place at the right time to make some networking opportunities? Will Candy Cane Lane be awesome (Duh.)? And in other non-timing related show-biz, there was some Schmidt. Some seriously good Schmidt.

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of recap last week. Since SB encouraged us to go ahead and do double posts for this week and last, that’s what I’m going to do.

This week was the last White Collar episode of the season. I have to say that for the most part, I am glad I watched this show, and I’ll check it out this summer as well.

But first, let’s talk about last week’s episode: “Front Man”.

One thing I thought was interesting was that it was described on my TV as “The daughter of Neal’s friend is a kidnap victim”, but in my opinion, that’s not really how it played out. I really liked that both the Lindsey Gless’s dad AND Ryan Wilkes were BOTH basically enemies of Neal. I thought it was a great example of Neal’s past catching up to him despite his inherent good nature.

You guys, I think I must be the worst at re-capping this show. I am always surprised by things, and honestly, I am not sure if that means that I am just not paying attention to details or what. It always makes me feel stupid to bring them up, kind of like how about five days ago, I logged on to Facebook to see that it had changed. I hadn’t been on FB for awhile, and it was clear that it was WAY too late to be all “Hey, what’s up with the new Facebook format” right? It would be like going into a McDonald’s and asking why they don’t sell pizza anymore.

But anyways, back to this episode. Did we know that Neal was playing chess against a mystery person? If so, I have totally missed that thread of him getting postcards with moves on them. Also, has Neal always had his own desk at the FBI? I like that he does, I just have never noticed those things.

Despite those two things, I really enjoyed the cold open for this episode. I’m still trying to get a feel for Neal’s reactions to Peter. If he can play so smooth and charming to everyone, then why is he so intimidated by Peter? Or is THAT just another act? Hopefully this is an underlying plotline and not just flip-flopping on his character. It’s “Analyzing Characters’ Motives” Week here on OCTV! Ha.

Hey you guys, it’s SB and I’m a TOTAL asshole.  I went out of town on Friday morning and completely forgot Project Runway would be new, so I’ve left Seels’ review in blog purgatory all weekend.  I’m sorry, Seels!  I hope you (and all your faithful readers) can forgive me!  Still, I know that any new TV (and also any new non-Olympics blog posts) are like a beautiful oasis in the desert, so enjoy this and leave lots of comments and love for Seels to make up for my douchitude. :) –SB

Ugh…from just the previews, I was already dreading this episode. I was just talking with my sister the other day about how I don’t want children, but wouldn’t mind to have babies. I kind of want to like adopt babies and then pass them on to better families for all the other stuff. I could do late nights and no sleep and diapers and all of that over and over again, but the idea of dance recitals and soccer games and shopping for prom dresses, all of that makes me want to break out in hives. Hey, too much information, right?

So 11 ‘super cute’ squealing girls in the work room for a PR challenge is moving to yikes territory for me.

But, I was willing to give it a shot. For you, and also to see what nervous breakdown Janeane has this week. But mostly for you. And you’re welcome.

Hey, TV lovers, Happy Friday! Isn’t it awesome when we are right? And we are so right about Mila, aren’t we? I LOVE that the producers and editors for the show practically led this epi off with her telling the camera that she wasn’t sure why no one was excited that she was in the top two in the previous challenge. Maybe it’s about jealousy, she says, or maybe it’s that no one thinks she deserves that. Well, yes. It’s one of those.

This week’s challenge was to design an outfit to be worn by a celebrity on the COVER of Marie Claire magazine. Who is the celebrity? None other than Heidi Klum. Emilio says that’s huge. I hope he’s talking about her celebrity value and not her pregnancy boobs.

So sorry for the delay, darlings! Is everyone staying warm? My life has been very crazy, but I’ll spare you all the details. I’m going to have to blurb it up this week, which sounds gross.

I want to start off with a list of things I really enjoyed; just open up the floor for discussion. This episode really brought the sexy back. Discuss.

1. Girl Alex. Thoughts? I liked her. I think NEAL likes her, which is cool. He might be obsessed with Kate, but I wonder if he even likes Kate at all.

2. Know what else is sexy? Men wearing gun holsters.

3. Even sexier? Neal figuring out codes using a Scrabble board. First he reads Warrant Law shirtless in bed, and now this? Are you kidding me?

I liked this case. Murder is always interesting. What did you think of the Odd Couple vibe between Peter and Neal? At first, I was kind of annoyed, because Peter seemed kind of ridiculous, and it was kind of out of character for him to be like that. So I liked that once Neal was out of the apartment, Peter got back to his snoopy self. But that backfired later when Neal found out, and friends, I think we had our first real fight between our crime fighting pair.

Of course, they made up with a meaningful look of trust across the room.

One last thing, I LOVED Dan! Neal and Peter kind of need a mascot, and Dan would be a perfect one.

Thoughts from you?

Welcome to a Ping-less Project Runway. Were you just a teensy bit sad like I was? Also, I’m thinking that one day I would love to be as skinny and beautiful as a pregnant Heidi Klum.

After last week, I thought maybe I was a little too harsh on Mila, but then she opened the episode straightening that bob of hair and talking about missing her dog. Yeah, I don’t feel too bad. But I’m not dog hater! Really, I’m not! What made me cringe was that my current fave, Maya, feels as if she is a kindred spirit to Mila! Boo! Unless it turns into some classic mentor/mentoree type thing where they face off in a duel in the end and Mila is shown to be weaker than her student, I will not be pleased if they become pals.

This week’s challenge involved the Campbell’s Soup company and their initiative to support the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement. The designers are to create this year’s signature dress for the ‘Campbell’s Address your Heart’ Program. Red must be a prominent color in the design and the Campbell brand must be evident, AND their models are women who have been affected in some way by heart disease. It’s a one day challenge.

I liked this episode, and this challenge. Real life women models are the shiz, and I thought they all seemed cool.

Oh, and before we start the runway discussion, did Janeane really run through Mood saying that she needed to get her boning? Yesssssssssssss!

So after I watched the end of this episode, I realized that maybe I shouldn’t be recapping this show,  as it seems I have no taste in fashion whatsoever. So far this year, I haven’t been too impressed with the winners of each challenge. In fact, I’ve been dead wrong.  The good thing that came out of this week is that I do believe I may have chosen a mortal enemy.

You all know what I mean; every once in awhile, there is just one designer that makes you tune in, just to hope for his or her failure, but also to secretly revel in the evil they seem to cause each week, knowing full well that it will be many moons until the judges actually kick them off, on account of the great ratings they get.  Wendy, Santino, Irina, and now this year’s…

Mila.

I found myself really looking forward to this episode, and here’s why. In the past two episodes, Peter has shown us that he’s not bad, but he can be badass, and that is JUST what the show needed to land it in the ‘interesting’ pile.

The case idea of mortgage/inheritance fraud didn’t strike me as that interesting at first, you? I mean, I certainly liked Mr. Sullivan and his daughter Allison as characters, but he said the FBI was his last chance. Last chance, really? Who works with local officials and then when nothing happens says, “Well, I guess I’ll just head on over to the J. Edgar Hoover building and talk to some federal investigators.” I mean, do I dream of going there and running into Seeley Booth in a three piece suit? Yes, I do. But that is not what Mr. Sullivan had in mind. I guess I understand that they needed a storyline to get Peter and Neal on the trail of the corrupt judge, and her connection with Fowler, but still, that general premise felt kind of weak.

Here is something else that annoyed me; why did Peter mention that New York had won like 4-3? It’s not baseball season, and while I can certainly understand that a show would film eps and then be at the mercy of the network as far as when they are aired, the show should know better.

Y’all, I didn’t know that Project Runway eps had titles. I just figured it was like “Season Five, Episode 3” or whatevs, but this one is actually called “The Fashion Farm”. I don’t usually watch the Models of the Runway or whatever that show is, but does anyone else get the feeling that they care more about that show than this one? WTF … letting the models pick the designers they wanted?

This week’s challenge is a one day challenge to create a party-worthy look out of a potato sack. They are allowed some other materials, and in another ‘twist’, the models are also the clients. Watch out, Tim Gunn … the models are probably coming after your job next!

Onto the rest of the episode. During the time in the sewing lab/workroom, it looks like the producers are turning Mila into this year’s villain. Tim walked around and gave his ‘encouragement’ which, as always, is really barely veiled questions designed to make anyone like me feel like a failure as a person just for watching. I kid, I kid; Tim’s a good guy. His runway day tie matched the walls of the workroom. In other news, I thought it was high comedy when Jay was sitting alone in the workroom at midnight, all dramatic and what not.
