Hello readers. Let me just reel you into my recap with Chris Messina in a speedo.

This episode had a lot of Danny. You can see that I mean that both figuratively and literally. And I like having Danny around and finding out more about his character. I honestly think he’s got the most depth out of everyone on the show at this point. Even Mindy seems kind of a caricature at this point, but Danny’s always getting more layers. Keep it up, show, but spread the wealth. Maybe give us a single fact about Dr. British’s history.

Well, not gonna lie, folks.  I had my issues with this episode, none of which, I’m sure, will come as a huge shock to you.  But we’ll get there.

The first thing that I insist on pointing out is that the little cute bottle that Caroline brought blood in for Elena?  TOTALLY a Cracker Barrel maple syrup bottle.  Love.  AND more proof that I need to work in the props department on this show.  Second thing I insist on mentioning … I want to see Klaus ruffle Caroline’s perfect feathers, please!

Evilena is such a verbose dickhole.  I am sick of her talking already, and we are barely five minutes into this.

You know, speaking of dickholes, Matt is kind of being one to Rebekah.  But then, she’s also kind of being one to him.  Apparently, everyone in this town has cycled up and this is the week they all got their period.  Anyway.  I get the Rebekah attraction to Matt, and I get his aversion to her, and I see where this is going, but this storyline needs to either move or get lost because it’s starting to get tedious.  I thought we were past this after she cured April or whatever.  And also, thank you, Show, for the big reveal that Matt is poor as fuck.  We all already knew that, because hello, TWITTER.

The Salvatores WOULD choose to torture Evilena in front of a huge, mostly red curtain in front of a window that totally looks like a stage.  It’s all just so dramatic and … GAY, really.  And the flair with which Stefan flings open the curtain?  Good god.  I hope his eventual sashaying out of the closet has as much style.  But then Evilena goes and opens up the curtain herself, and catches fire, and it is SO much drama that no wonder this bitch is their favorite hag.

I feel like I need to start writing a spoof series/the series I really want to be watching called Gay Vampire Diaries. Read the rest of this entry »

Not only is Kevin back this week but so are Crowley and Cas!  And lots of gross parts. Thanks, show.  Nasty.

Kevin is still working on the boat on the third trial. Only he’s not really on the boat, it’s a fake boat and it’s a Fake!Sam and Fake!Dean that bring Kevin Crowley’s piece of the tablet.  Kevin isn’t dumb.  He figures out that they are fake pretty quickly.  He also has loaded all his notes out on a super secret server that sends an email to the real Sam & Dean if he doesn’t reset the command after week.

Okay, I’m just going to say it—this episode felt like filler to me. Fun, funny, Dylan O’Brien-filled filler. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I was hoping for something that didn’t feel like…well, filler.

I’ll stop saying filler now.

So this episode, “The Virgins,” was a flashback episode about how each of the roomies (plus Cece) lost their virginity. What I liked about this is that the stories weren’t pretty. And Cece’s story was just stupid. I mean, c’mon, who is going to believe that a high school girl with my haircut lost her virginity to Mick Jagger? If this were the ’60s or ’70s, I’d be more apt to believe it, but I don’t know. I definitely rolled my eyes really hard at that scene.

Overall we learned that Winston lost his to a hooker named Mysteria who was bought for him (and another, creatively named Octopussy, was for a terrible wig-headed Nick with braces, who couldn’t go through with it.) by Nick’s dad. I mean, EW. Do dads do that for their kids? I mean, I understand that Nick’s dad (RIP) isn’t supposed to be a paragon of virtue and morality on this show, but GODDAMN that is gross and freaking me out still. So while Winston had no idea he was sleeping with a hooker, Nick and his dad were having a heart to heart about how the best things in life happen when you don’t let yourself think too much about them.

We got a lot of Fat Suit Schmidt in this episode, which is not my favorite kind of Schmidt. But other people like him, so I’ll shut up about it. Anyway, he lost his virginity to Elizabeth (maybe?), but Nick was in the room high on mushrooms, Schmidt used a disgusting amout of lube, and ended up sliding off of Elizabeth and the top bunk, and landing on top of Nick, who was crawling across the floor. Then they sort of lube-wrestle for a bit. It was weird. The Boyfriend found it funny. I’m just not the demographic for Fat Suit Schmidt avec Lube. Anyway, presumably Schmidt & Eilzabeth end up making the sex and not just sliding around all over each other. Congrats to them.

I'm about to make a questionable decision.

I’m about to make a questionable decision.

Last night was the penultimate episode of Hart of Dixie, Season 2. Aaaaand, well really there isn’t that much to say! I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it but I am interested in seeing how all this will come to head in the finale.

The good news? Hart of Dixie is getting a third season! I’m so happy this is turning into a little show who could. It’s quirky and charming and visiting Bluebell every week is guaranteed to chase the blues away (see what I did there?). Also, I’m seriously hoping we get to see lots more of Shelby and AB next season!

Another great piece of news: Rose is back! We need more Rose in Bluebell! She’s the only one who can talk some sense into our little drama queen, Dr Zoe Hart. To be fair though, it’s not entirely always Zoe’s fault that there is so much drama! She just kind of attracts the drama, poor thing! Thankfully there are at least three people in Bluebell that stand by Zoe despite the drama: Lavon, Wade, and Rose.

Now, I had a theory last week about break-ups, hook-ups, and possible marriage proposals aaaaand can’t say I was far off base there! But then again, May sweeps and all.

So let’s get to it!

Hey, friends! Super busy week for me so please excuse any lateness or shittiness this time around. Get ready to relive this past week’s Supernatural episode in gif form! Seriously, there’s going to be a lot of gifs. I just really love Dean and Charlie, okay? Other shows included: season finale of Lost Girl, Parks and Recreation, a double dose of Happy Endings, Nikita, Arrow, Community, Awkward, Game of Thrones, and a few others.

Hello, longtime friends and followers of OCTV!  (I can’t type “longtime” without also saying, “Me love you long time,” which I totally do, and I can’t move on until it is said.  Whew.  OCD is hard.)

You may have noticed that posting has slowed down a bit here, but I wanted to let you know that we’ve been having behind-the-scenes discussions about the future of the site and where we want to go to it, and there will be big changes soon that should increase both the number of posts and the quality/fun factor of those posts.  What changes are these, you ask?

Well, first of all, for the most part, the weekly recaps are going away.  If any of the bloggers want to continue them, they most certainly can, but they may want to change up the timeframes that they publish them.  What we have all collectively decided as a group are the following things:

  • There are a zillion weekly recap sites out there, and sometimes doing it, even in our fun and hilarious, profananity-laced way, can feel a little like white noise.
  • Sometimes, there just isn’t that much to say about a show week in and week out.
  • Almost no one watches TV live anymore, and we want to make TV (and internet) experiences that are more in tune (heh) with how people actually watch TV now.
  • Writing the weekly recap basically leans to burnout and exhaustion, which means we have less energy to put into it.  This is the most important thing that we have to change.

So, after discussing all of this, we have decided that we are going to take a more free-form approach to our TV recappage and discussions.  Rather than doing weekly recaps, we might just talk about an episode that really stuck with us, or we might discuss episodes in chunks after catching up on the DVR.  We might catch up on a whole season or series of something on Netflix, and then talk about that.  Maybe we’ll compare two different shows, or just talk about one part of a show, or just do one post about why you’re missing the most awesome show ever.  We’ll have more time to collect pics and gifs and to think about what we’re writing, and it’s going to translate to an all-around better environment for us, as the bloggers, and for you, as the readers, so we’re very, very excited about it and can’t wait for our community here to reap the benefits.

Now, several shows will finish their recaps through the end of the season, just so you know what to expect.  I’ve already made an epic new drinking game to premiere before summer shows, I’ll be working on a new header for the site, and other than that, we are open to suggestions (which can be made in the comments below!).  Nicole and I are planning on our year-end wrap up that we usually do, and I think there is some stuff in the works for the Arrested Development events of the summer.  So all in all, a lot of exciting stuff coming up!

So. Okay. Yeah. There wasn’t too much going on in this episode. It was a good episode, a decent episode, but it was just another episode. Nothing spectacular. Everyone was perfectly in character so it got kind of… boring predictable. Ron decides to fight Leslie over the Pawnee Palms Public Putt-Putt, Andy considers quitting Mouse Rat and Tom needs help to break up with Mona-Lisa. That’s it, that’s the episode.

Well, you guys know how thrilled I get at the very THOUGHT of anything backdoor-related when it comes to Vampire Diaries, but you also know I’m not super into the idea of a spinoff, mostly because I want the Originals to stick around Mystic Falls.  After this episode, my feelings are slightly more mixed than I would’ve expected, which we’ll discuss.  But first, I didn’t recap last week because I had tickets to a dirty puppet improv show (and it was really fun, I recommend it if you can ever make it happen). So before we move on to this week’s episode, I’d like to just briefly discuss last week’s, if that’s cool.

Of course it’s cool!

Anyway, my feelings about the last week are probably also pretty predictable.  Jeremy was pretty, Caroline was goddamn fucking beautiful, KLAUS AND CAROLINE!, Stefan at prom was Teh Sex, Rebekah is the best crier of all time, and OH YEAH, I am so super fucking pissed that they kept cockteasing me with killing Bonnie!  Listen.  I know they’re doing this to me on purpose now (and throwing in a side of Almost Dead April?  EXTRA mean), and it’s BULLSHIT AND NOT FUNNY!  Ugh.  ANd it’s not like I even think it’s really going to happen at this point, and something about that pisses me off EXTRA.  But I’m getting derailed.

So, as for the potential spinoff.  New Orleans is just pretty much inherently cool, and there’s so much fun potential for weird characters and music and so forth, and I actually REALLY liked Marcel, and a good power struggle is always pretty great.  It looks like they’re setting Elijah up to go to the spinoff, and Rebekah maybe to stay in Mystic Falls, at least for now.  I’m not sure what they plan on doing with Caroline, since they clearly gave us the sassy blonde Caroline replacement, but then Klaus called Caroline and said he just wanted to show it all to her, and that was sweet and adorable.  And, let’s get real–Caroline would probably be better used on a show like that.  It’s like they don’t know what to do with her in Mystic Falls if there isn’t a dance.  And let’s also be honest–if Klaus and Caroline are together on a new show, I’m probably going to end up watching that show. We’re back!  I loved all the feelings in this episode. Happy and sad.  Good hair and bad.  And Charlie.  Yes, Felicia Day is back as Charlie and it’s a good thing.
