The Amazing Race. This Thing Has Got The Power.

Finally someone goes home!

Has everyone come out of their turkey comas? Recovered from getting pepper sprayed for Black Friday deals? Trying to wade through 150 items in their Google reader? Thankfully, Sunday rolled around and I could finally get new TV episodes. I was getting antsy after an entire day of American Picker.

The race starts where we left off last week. Amani and Marcus got to the Pit Stop and were told the next leg was starting immediately. Ernie and Cindy were hot on their tails and Team Who weren’t far behind. Team Snowboarders and Old People were still trying to show off their muscles correctly. Once again teams had to drive themselves to their next destination, the Ford Proving Grounds in Belgium.

WHEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

ROADBLOCK Most teams were super excited to get to drive one of the new FORD MUSTANGS. FORD is so cool and the MUSTANG has sooo much power! I kid. Though the product placement was super blatant it was actually a really fun task. One team member had to drive a mustang through three challenges; drive 100 mph and stop, go through a slalom course and stop without hitting a barrier in under 16 seconds, and do two donuts. For some reason that I think it totally uncool there were no women drivers. Cindy and Ernie were to the roadblock first as Marcus and Amani got lost. Ernie had a lot of trouble with the second task and had to do it 15 times before he finally got it. It gave Jeremy the chance to catch up. The Snowboarders are now deciding who does a task by whether it’s a “mind” task or not. Apparently Tommy’s terrible performance in the acting challenge last week has regulated Andy to the fun-free tasks. He is seething with jealousy but tries not to show it too much. All teams eventually get there and complete the task all while having one hell of a time.

DETOUR Waffles OR Water Ernie and Cindy are first again and decide to try Waffles immediately. Apparently they don’t mix well with water.  In Waffles, teams had to build a waffle stand then cook 18 waffles exactly like the ones on display at the demo cart. Jeremy and Sandy show up and also pick waffles. They are much faster at building their stand because they are tall, according to Ernie. Team Snowboarders choose Water. In Water, they had to build a raft out of logs and barrels and then search the canal for two halves of the clue. Team Ex-NFL originally choose Waffles but decide it looked too hard so they go to Water. Tommy and Andy throw together their raft while Amani and Marcus try to make a really sound vessel. When Team Snowboarders don’t sink they realize it doesn’t need to be perfectly made. Andy & Tommy get done first and make up a lot of time.

I know this was last week, but...HEE!!

The rest of the leg the teams had to release pigeons, find where the pigeons landed and make their way to the Pit Stop. Everyone seemed to get lost at some point, especially while trying to find the pigeon destinations.

PIT STOP The pit stop for this leg of the race was the Atomium, the molecular structure of iron, blown up a million times or something. It was very large and pretty lit up at night. Team Snowboarders maintain their lead and are rewarded with customizable Ford Mustangs. This helps Andy get over his jealousy real quick. These guys have dominated this season. It will be interesting to see if they can keep it up or if they will choke in the finale. Bill and Cathi didn’t seem to have a chance to recover. They went out with style and grace. I think we all expected nothing less. Going from last place in the first leg, the first saved with a non-elimination leg, to top 5 is pretty impressive. I’m happy we got to have them in as long as we did. They were fun to watch.

That’s it for me. Did the episode feel really long to you? Are you going to run out and by a FORD MUSTANG? Have you ever driven 100 mph? COMMENTS, please. I need them to help me recover from my Black Friday trauma!

OK, the body building pic of Phil freaked me out!

I was sad to see Team Old People go.  They have a great spirit.  I volunteer with alot of Team Old People (others not these) and there are tons of “older” Americans that have the same joy of life out there and are truly inspirational.

Now, I kinda want Team Ex-NFL to win. OK, it the snowboarders.

I agree, I was sad to see them go too. They kicked ass and I still can’t believe how good Cathi looked in that bikini. She would certainly put me and a lot of young people I know to shame. Maybe some of the people on Survivor and other shows where they get rid of the old people first will take notice. Not all old people are liabilities.

I’m also on Team Ex-NFL but would be OK with the Snowboarders winning. I’d be super disappointed if Team OCD won and pissed if Team Who won.

I have to say, I really have enjoyed this season.  Except for all the non-elims.  But even with that, it’s been good.  The challenges have been cool most of the teams have been really fun.

And I wish I could get my mom and dad to audition!!!  Every challenge I think “my parents would have kicked ASS on that!” Well, almost every challenge. Last nights for sure.  Between the driving and the waffle making?  Totally would have kicked ass.

Also, I think they both would have done really well on the body building challenge.

Now, next week?  Not sure how they would do with whatever that height thing is but they HAVE walked the rooftops in St Petersburg so I would say, they could do it.

You should totally get them to do it!

Ugh, it broke my heart to see Cathi and Bill get the boot. I was so hoping this would be one of those non-elimination rounds, but when they started the “send off reel”, I knew it wasn’t meant to be.

Patty get your folks on that show NOW! It would be so cool to root for someone I sorta knew (by proxy).

As mentioned above, I was very sad to see Bill and Cathi eliminated. They were completely sweet, and pretty good at working as a team to get shit done. I’m a fan of the snowboarders because they’re pretty in a dirty way, and mostly because Cindy needs to die and I hate her. She’s a total bitch, and I wish she and Ernie had done the rafting challenge so he could push her into the water to drown. Too mean? Meh, I think not.

Though I don’t have your level of hate I don’t like Cindy either. She as at least mellowed out some as the season has progressed.

Oh, and I also agree the snowboarders are pretty in a dirty way. Especially Andy and that beard…and I don’t like beards.

Yeah, Cindy just really rubs me the wrong way. I agree she has mellowed slightly, but not enough for me.

I was totally not into bearded men until I saw Jack Hodgins of Bones. YUM. The snowboarders are pretty-dirty just like that and I love it.
