American Horror Story. Halloween: Part 1.

Seeing how Halloween is only a few days away, it was only appropriate that AHS did a Halloween episode … or more than one for that matter. A LOT went on during this episode so fair warning, this post is going to be a little extensive. Every new episode I watch, I get more and more confused. I really hope I’m not the only one. They spit out so much information and new people every episode that it messes with my mind more than the show already has. For example, the show kicks off with a gay couple living in the house in 2010. Is that supposed to be before or after Vivien, Ben, and Violet live there? The guys, Chad and Pat, are being festive and carving pumpkins. They happen to be in a fight too. They want to try to “flip the house” for Halloween so someone will actually want to buy it. The black demon guy comes into the house and Chad believes it’s Pat trying to be cute and dress up … just as though Vivien thought it was Ben and ended up getting pregnant with a demon baby. This guy is tricky. Anyway, he beats Chad up and it looks as though he drowns him. I’m not positive though because I looked away from the TV …

Now we are back to Vivien and Ben, whether that means it’s before or after the other couple living in the house. The reason I’m confused is because the maid suggests that they get “Fluffers” to come into the house and add some style to it so it’s more likely to sell. Of course, she brings in Chad and Pat. I thought Chad was drowned? So I’m thinking this was before they moved into the house. The fluffers suggest they get rid of the gazebo and put in an organic garden … uhh that cannot happen, seeing how Hayden is apparently buried under there. Chad tells Ben and Vivien that the house is meant for Chad and Pat and everyone knows it … even the house. Okay, weirdos.

Quick side note about Hayden. Vivien gets an idea from Chad to check Ben’s phone records to see if he has made contact with her recently. You can delete a text, but you can’t delete the records … remember that. Hayden has called Ben over 20 times, but he threatened her with the police. In the middle of the conversation she gets a phone call from Hayden. What the hell?! Isn’t she dead? Maybe she was buried alive … no just kidding. Vivien is going to “call her back.” I’d love to see how that goes!

Tate wants to see Violet and so they decide to meet in the basement. He dresses up as the black demon guy and scares Violet. Jerk! He proceeds to tell her a story about the house. Apparently a guy named Charles built the house. He was a doctor who became addicted to drugs. In order to make money his wife tells him he needs to start a new business. By business I mean performing abortions on women in their basement. Why kind of person does that?! One young teen gets an abortion and her boyfriend finds out about it and gets a little mad … he kidnaps Charles’ baby. Their baby was returned to Charles and his wife by the police … dead. They take their baby and decide to bury him/her. Instead, Charles is a freak and takes the baby and creates what Tate called a “monster” who still lives in the house. I think the baby is possibly the black demon getting revenge of everybody. What do you think?

A few people die in this episode … On Halloween, Violet dresses Addy up as a pretty girl. That’s what Addy wanted to be for Halloween. She goes trick or treating with a group of girls who want nothing to do with her. As Addy chases after the girls into the street she is hit by a car. I was in complete shock. Instead of Constance letting the paramedics help Addy, she drags her back into the house. Is she gonna keep her there? And is Addy now going to be a ghost too and haunt people? Addy did mention that she loved Vivien and Ben’s house so much because all of her friends lived there so maybe she’ll stick around. The maid requested to have Halloween off to visit her mother. Instead of visiting her and chatting with her, she kills her. Her mom is hospital bound. She lives through a breathing tube. I’m going to guess that the maid was putting her mom out of her misery because she visions her mom standing behind her asking her to come with her. I’m sure the maid will die within the next few episodes too.

The episode has finally come to a close. Almost. Vivien and Ben are in a fight … shocker … and Vivien feels a big kick from the baby. Impossible. The baby is only eight weeks old. They make a trip to the doctor and leave Violet home alone. Nice guys, good going. The ultra sound tech asks if they’re sure that the baby is only eight weeks old because the baby is much bigger than it should be. The tech is suddenly shocked and faints. She probably saw some sort of demon figure inside of Vivien. While this is taking place, the creepy guy with the half burned face is banging at the door and asking for $1,000 from Ben. For what? What could Ben possibly have done for him? Did I miss something? As Violet is waiting, the black demon guy appears from behind her. I really just want to know who it is at this point. When Ben and Vivien return home the house is broken into and Violet is no where to be found. Ben looks inside of a closet where he sees an image of a young woman. I couldn’t really make out her face due to all of the hair in the face, but I think it might be Hayden coming back for revenge. He calmly closes the door and moves on. So next episode, we should find out a lot of stuff. What happened with Addy, who that girl is, where Violet is, etc. I’m really looking forward to it!

Did you miss the entire second episode?  The guy at the door killed Ben’s mistress and helped him bury her under the gazebo, she’s the one that showed up at the door at the end.

Pretty much everyone is already dead. It looks like if you die on the property, you are trapped there.  So everyone except Vivien, Violet, that ass Ben, Constance and that burned dude are dead. Plus the ginger twins (who died in the pilot) where the little shits that egged the house.

I’m basically perpetually behind on this show (I still have Halloween Part 2 sitting on my DVR), but I’m kind of surprised by how much I actually like it.  I hope I’m not just getting sucked back into the Ryan Murphy trap of 12 awesome episodes followed by mountains of shit!  I remain suspicious, but for now, it’s pretty awesome!
