Commercial Break. Prizes! Did you win one?

You guys know how I go overboard on like, fucking EVERYTHING?  Well, not FUCKING everything, but … I go overboard, okay?  GOD.

Anyway, I went to pick the first winner of the prize but I couldn’t keep it to just one.  And I couldn’t keep it to just two, so I picked three.  Are you ready for this?

The first one is Kimber.  She has been a comment MANIAC, on a whole variety of things, leaving long and thoughtful comments even when the blog eats her first draft.  What a champ!

The second is Cathy.  Cathy is a relatively new commenter but she’s been incredibly regular and I like that.  Regularity is a mostly underrated quality, unless you live in an Activia commercial.  She started as pretty much solely a PLL commenter, and this week, she expanded into Top Chef, virtually ensuring her prize winner status!

The third is Layne.  Layne not only delurked and started commenting on the PLL posts, which is awesome, but she reads Nicole’s recaps out loud to her roommates, and that’s what we like–OCTV evangelists.  Yay, Layne!

Congratulations, big winners!  Comment or email me at offcolortv@gmail.com to let me know what you would like as a prize.  Remember!  TV-related and small for mailing reasons!  For a list of my skills, click here.  (Also, Randi, I know you’re reading this and I WILL be tearing the closet apart this weekend to find Loose Seal!)  Everyone else, you have been kicking SO MUCH FUCKING ASS! this week at commenting.  Keep it up!  You all make blogging so fun for all of us.  Thank you!  We’ll pick another winner during the Elite Eight, which I always thought was the most stupidly named round.  It could be you!

Oh my god! You picked me? You picked ME?? But, I never, ever win anything!!! Are you sure my friend Tina didn’t win, because Tina wins everything, and I always end up the angry/jealous friend!

If you’re sure it’s me, then I gladly accept and send my thanks! I was pretty upset to lose my awesome PLL post this week, but bloggy and I are still friends, and I’ve totally forgiven him.

I have no idea what I want! Maybe a wood-burned sign? LOL! Kidding. Only a little bit. I actually have some wood burned things, and that’s not really TV related. Can I think about it a bit? Or can you throw some suggestions my way? I’m guessing you aren’t able to provide me with floppy-haired Lee Pace in real life, right? Dangit.

  • offcolortv

Fuck Tina! You’re the big winner!

Actually, you can have a wood burned sign, if you can give me approximately five days to get paid and buy a woodburner and figure out how to use it. We can burn some TV-related something into some wood! I had my brother slice me up some branches for Christmas tree ornaments/fun stuff, and they’re about three inches in diameter. Just putting it out there!

Sorry about the Lee Pace. But if you can come up with a few ideas (just a show, a quote, an item), I can fill in the blanks!

  • Cathy

Wow, thank you! I feel slightly guilty as a winner because I actually do participate in basketball brackets, but those have been a mess since the first weekend, so let’s be honest, this was my only real chance to win anything!

I’m really bad at making decisions, so is it ok if I throw out a few suggestions and let your crafty self take one and run with it? I’m a big reader, so a bookmark would be useful, but I also like the idea of a button to put on my knitting bag (yes, i read, knit and go to bed at a reasonable hour, the only way you know i’m not a senior citizen is because i watch shows aimed at teenagers). I’m torn between show choice but I’m going to throw out Top Chef (this is top chef, not top scallop), PLL (the many hats of spencer?) or Ru Paul’s Drag Race (can i get an amen?). I also love everything that comes out of Ron Swanson’s mouth. That give you enough ideas?

  • Kimber

While I’ll admit I am intrigued by a wood burning project (ornament?), it sounds like a lot of work and $$ for you, so I’ll understand if it’s not workable. If you happen to buy a woodburner in the future and have another contest, I’m right there!

I do love reading, so a bookmark would be awesome, as would a button of some sort for my backpack (because I’m 12). That’s too bad about Lee Pace, but something Pushing Daisies would be awesome. I was thinking about that on the bus this morning, and I believe that’s my true love show. If I could pick one thing to watch for the rest of my life, and only one thing – it would have to be PD. It just gives me warm tinglies still just thinking about it. So something Pushing Daisies/Lee Pace would be fantastic!

Other shows you already know I love: Pretty Little Liars (Jaws Cane! Toby!), Supernatural (Dean Girl!), Being Human (Josh Girl!!), and sometimes (but not lately) Glee (um … Santana Girl?!). Is it wrong to say surprise me?

  • offcolortv

Cathy! No guilt allowed, even if you make a stunning comeback and win your brackets! This is totally unrelated. And yes, that gives me plenty to work with! Let me know if any other ideas strike today. Otherwise, I’m on it this weekend. And email me the address you want it mailed to. Yay for winning!

  • offcolortv

Kimber, one way or another, woodburner is happening. So if you want something woodburned, you’re basically just giving me a legitimate excuse.

Meanwhile, I think Pushing Daisies is entirely doable. Any fave quotes or anything I should use in particular?

  • offcolortv

And don’t worry about being toooo specific-I am totally willing and able to surprise you!

  • Nicole

Congrats you guys! You all deserve it – I am biased to each of you because you’re all regular commenters on my PLL posts, so obviously I adore you all.

PS – Kimber – the eating the comment thing has happened to me WAY too many times – a tip for everyone: Copy your comment before you hit submit; that way if it gets eaten, you can just paste it back in. “Before you submit…copy it” – my Johnny Cochrane impression.

I’m super jeals of SB’s crafty talents – I’d make prizes, but my main crafts are mixed CDs or baked goods and I don’t think my cupcakes would ship well.

  • offcolortv

OMG, the idea of doing a Johnnie Cochrane in the year 2011 made me piss myself. Hee!

And don’t get too jealous yet–nothing has been made, and it could all suck! But hopefully not.

  • Kimber

@Nicole – what kills me is that I DID copy and paste! We used to have a shitty e-mail system at work, which would log you out all the time, but only AFTER you had typed and hit “send”. So everything was lost. I learned to copy-paste from that. However, when I was writing my PLL comment I copied, hit submit, and then thought it was too large so I re-copied just the second half, hit submit, and lost the entire first half! I love CTRL-C (or Command-C on my work Mac), it’s my friend!

@offcolortv – I’m going to kill some time today on Wikiquote because Pushing Daisies was SUCH a quoteable show! There are so many good things, i.e. “Don’t mess with the pie-hos!” “aww hell no!” “I love you shovel” “the facts were these” “Listen to you, all judgey-judge” … gosh, so much goodness!
