Revenge. “Nice Touch, Bringing Your Girls from the Beaver Dam.”

So, this episode was the soapiest piece of shit that they’ve aired, right?

I just. I really hated this episode. Sure, there were a couple big plot developments (PAPA ARGENT IS A MEANIE! AMILY IS IN A COMA! HER BEHBEH HAS BEEN BORNED!), but MY GOD was this episode bad. The acting, the writing, the weird lack of Nolan. All of it. No bueno.

I thought  maybe I could attribute it to the truly heinous mood I was in last night, but no. It was just bad.

Here are the high points:

Amily fell over a bannister at the Grayson Mansion during her baby shower, directly after she confronted V about being “Charlotte Clarke” and knowing where Emanda’s mother, whose name is Kara btw, is. So now Amily is in a medically induced coma and the behbeh has been delivered. So Jack is now a devoted, basically single dad.

Jack owes Papa Argent a shit ton of money and he still can’t open his bar because—turns out—Papa Argent is paying off the health inspector AND Chandler Drake so that he can buy the bar, I suspect on the cheap (meaning free), from the Porters. That seems like  A LOT of trouble to go through just to “buy” a bar, right?

The Initiative—which is the weird organization that WHA worked for—is sniffing around, chatting up the Graysons, trying to find WHA, whom they believe went rogue. The lady on the phone last week with Conrad actually wasn’t Kara, just some Iniatitve Lady. And Kara is afraid of them. So, they’re still overlording around and being vague.

Daniel and Ashley are being honest with each other these days.

Aiden was briefly tied up by Kara, who thinks Aiden is either Initiative or working for the Graysons. But he escapes. And Kara hears on the radio that Amanda Clarke was injured at the Grayson house, so she goes to the hospital and is sitting beside Amily, and Emanda sees her mom and SUDDENLY REMEMBERS THAT THE WOMAN TRIED TO DROWN HER. WTF.

Nolan’s dad died! He didn’t know! He and Padma go to claim his stuff in storage. Nolan and Padma kiss, and then abscond to Paris.

No seriously, those are the high points. SO SOAPY.

Other Things

  • Emanda looks very tan in this episode
  • Nolan is better at kissing boys than girls.
  • Padma finds the framed investment check from David Clarke for NolCorp. I assume this means something will be afoot.

And that is seriously all I have to say this week. I hope one of you enjoyed this episode more than I did! Please do let me know ALL OF THE THINGS in comments.

Wow and just when I was starting to like Pregos McTrampsalot, bitch has to go and do a backflip off the balcony. *holds up judges card* 6.9!

I hope they paid that poor maid time and a half.

Please just get rid of Declan, is there anyone in the entire universe who likes Declan? Just kiiiiiiill him!!

I definitely didn’t dislike it as much as you, but it wasn’t one of my favorites either. I had such high hopes for how much screen time Emily and Nolan would have together this season with the writers teasing us about them being roommates in the first few episodes, and now we barely see them together. Hopefully that will change ASAP.

Anyway, I just have a hard time caring about Amanda falling over the balcony. First of all, when they were setting up the shot all I could think about was “that railing is really low, she’s going over, that’s definitely not up to code”. So when she actually did fall over I was already expecting it. I did kind of think she was going to lose the baby though, so I guess I was surprised there.

I don’t particularly care about the Nolan & Padma story yet, except that Nolan is wonderful and needs more screen time, but maybe her discovering the start up check from David Clarke will make it more interesting.

I’m actually surprised by how much I’m liking Daniel’s story at this point. I groaned internally when I saw they were going to couple Daniel and Ashley at the beginning, but it’s not as terrible as I imagined, so there’s that…

And, finally, I want to like Aiden, I really do, but I just feel like I have absolutely no idea of what his motives are. Which, I guess, is the point. But at the same time it’s not all that interesting to watch him run around and get involved with these people unless we have an idea of why he’s doing it.

My favorite thing about this season so far is Aiden. And I like that I’m not sure where he stands. It keeps me on my toes, you know?

    Pregos McTrampsalot!!

That was almost too much crazy for one episode. It gets points for the big moments but otherwise it’s much like the rest of the season so far. It was good that Amanda was pushed/fell rather than trip/lose her balance. Nolan falling was funny. I thought Aiden was smarter. Daniel being sneaky is fun and amusing. Poor, poor, maid. I loved the “Twins?” “No, just the one” :D

Seriously? A coma? That is the most cliché and lazy way a writer can get rid of a character for a while until they feel like it. I agree, super soapy episode, especially when they all ended up in a hospital. I am however eager to see how things play out with the whole amanda clarke almost dying on Grayson property thing. Im still so confused by the whole initiative thing and how Murphy and Kara fit into it, but if assassins start getting all up in this show then that’s not cool.

And so not happy about Nolan and what’s her face…
