Hey! All the top 20 are back for the finale. I will say before we get started that I think the whole one guy and one girl winning this season is pretty lame. I want a winner. Personally, I’ll just default to whichever girl wins because both of the girls are better than either of the guys.

On the judge panel, we have an all star cast: Lil’ C, Adam Shankman, Debbie Allen (barf), Tyce (barf), plus the regulars, Mary and Nigel.

The opening number is a joint gig by Christopher Scott and Sonya Tayeh. That is a crazy combination. I would add that it was quite the killer combination. Really amazing with the wind, the flowing outfits, and really good music.

First up for the judges’ favorites is Audrey and CERG (Matthew). They are doing the chaise lounge dance. As my wife pointed out, these two really fell apart after this routine. I didn’t much care for them and I was afraid they were going to make it to the finale. Boy was I wrong.

By the way, all the judges’ favorites will be the originals, not the ones from the finale itself.

The next favorite is Witney and Twitch’s hiphop. Bethany recapped that episode as I was trekking around Canada, so I don’t have much to say other than, it was just meh for me. The style was definitely a bit different, but I don’t like Witney and thought she was definitely sub-par.

George and Tiffany did the next favorite. George still has his trash ‘stache. It is gross and that is all that really needs to be said about this routine.

I profess my love of the paso doble regularly around these parts and the next favorite is the Cole/Lindsay paso doble which was one of my favorites ever. Also, I really thought Cole might win it all.

Next up is Will and Amelia doing the alley cat routine. I didn’t really like this much. Still don’t.

Chehon and all start Kathryn are doing the Tyce holocaust routine. Or as Mary put it, the “holly cost.” Mary, don’t say it like that. It makes it sound fun and enjoyable. In any case, I liked this the first time around, but Chehon must have forgotten his emoting hat, because it was pretty dry this go round. Enjoy the good version below.

Eliana is doing a favorite with all star Alex. This was probably one of my favorites of the season. Very haunting with some strong dancing.

Cat picks the all star Brandon and Tiffany disco routine. This is pretty much the only disco I’ve ever liked on this show, so a good pick.

Next up, the top 4 get to pick a favorite of their favorites and Chehon picks the Argentinian tango with Anya. This was another one that I didn’t see before. It was really good. Much better than quite a bit of his stuff.

We get another original routine and this one is Cyrus, all stars Comfort and Twitch joined by Christopher Scott. And it is a doozy. A hiphop routine around a card game. Really good stuff.

Tiffany picks her routine with Ade for her favorite. I don’t really remember this one, but it is ok.

Dragon House (Cyrus’s former crew) was voted number one memory from auditions and ends up performing live. They also included the little dude that pops and locks named Brian that has tried out for SYTYCD a couple of times.

I was really hoping for someone in the audience to scream “DO CALL ME MAYBE!!!!” while Carly Rae Jepsen did this awful song called “This Kiss.” Just terrible. And for a show that shows live dancing, they are scared shitless to show live singing. Enough of the lipsyncing.

To wrap things up for the favorites, we get the all star Twitch and Cyrus routine from last week. Killer routine.

But don’t go yet, because we also get a top 10 + all stars mashup with hiphop, African, Bollywood, and some other stuff mixed in. Pretty epic stuff.

So far, this finale has blown most of the other finales out of the water. Now let’s get down to business. For the girls, Eliana is the winner. Duh. As if Tiffany had any sort of shot. Moving on to the guys, Chehon wins. This was actually shocking to me. Chehon is clearly the superior dancer, but I was sure Cyrus was going to pull the votes.
