THE VOICE. Quarterfinals. Christina & Blake. If I Knew Who To Kick, I’d Kick ‘em.

I thought the post needed to start off with a little HOT-ness!

This is THE VOICE and for this round we have live eliminations. Christina and Blake are floored and are kinda mad about it. Adam actually likes it. They will have control over who goes home and not America. He’s a self-professed control freak. He’s also hot and had his green-eyed jealousy monster out tonight. Cee Lo was on downers and didn’t have much to say. Buck up, dude, you’ve got one of the best teams! My favorite moment from the show was actually the promo for Tuesday night. Beiber will be unveiling his newest video! Who is most excited? A bearded overweight old guy clapping frantically hee! Most editors would go for the young teen shot but I’m glad the over 50 male Beliebers are getting some recognition!

TEAM BLAKE

RaeLynn “Nothin’ but Country” Straw bales in glass cases! Hee!! Man, I’m not sure about this girl. She growled the whole thing and it didn’t sound like her normal singing voice. Wait, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Christina loved it. She wants to sing Country now (please don’t) and thinks RaeLynn is a little badass. I must be listening to something different. Adam is a fan and is impressed Blake finally got something right (song selection). Blake thinks she is showing America that Country can kick ass.

Jordis Unga “A Little Bit Stronger” Eh, it was entirely forgettable. As in I have nothing to say about it whatsoever. You know when Christina doesn’t like something. She immediately compliments the outfit and never really says she likes the performance. Adam apparently is going to be nice to everyone tonight. I doubt she makes it to tomorrow’s elimination show.

Erin Willett “Set Fire To The Rain” AAARRRRGGHHHHH! Leave Adele alone DAMMIT! She did do a pretty amazing job on the song though. I will give them that. I just want this show to ban Adele. There are a gagillion other songs out there. Christina and I were on the same page about Adele songs. Adam babbled a bunch and dogged on her phrasing. Overall they all really liked her performance.

Jermaine Paul “Against All Odds” I’m not so happy with some of the phrasing (just call me Adam) he chose on the verses, but over all it was a solid performance. It’s always hard when you do such an iconic song. Christina says he’s very “connected” when he sings. Adam voiced my same problem with being married to the original version of the song. Blake tried to get all deep and shit and started spouting crap about remembering this moment in time or something.

Group Performance “Heartache Tonight” Blake’s not a narcissist like Xtina. They don’t have to sing one of his songs. Erin and Jermaine were the best. RaeLynn’s line was terrible. I’ll never get that girl. Overall, I thought they did a decent job. Blake allowed the contestants to do their thing and they all seemed to enjoy singing together.

TEAM CHRISTINA

Jesse Campbell “Halo” Not his best performance. This is one gender-bending song that should have not been attempted. He did much better at the end, but the beginning was rough. Also, his outfit was entirely too young looking. All the judges were blowing smoke up his ass. I’m sorry but he was off the first half of the song. I believe in keeping it real and I’m disappointed they didn’t tell it to him straight. He might be a favorite but that doesn’t give you a free pass to sound bad.

Ashley De La Rosa “Foolish Games” Entirely too much fog and she had some rough notes in the beginning, but those are the only negatives from me. The rock parts were pretty fantastic. In the 90s I loved Jewel and I would sing this song in earnest. Now a days, it definitely needs that rock arrangement to make it at all relevant. Cee Lo had a pretty lackluster response and Adam called him out on it. Adam thought it was a great performance and is finally seeing why Christina chose her in the first place. Blake said said that Aguilera saving Ashley a couple of weeks ago was “the smartest decision that’s been made this year.” Man, he’s all about the profound statements tonight.

Lindsey Pavao “S & M/We Found Love” ”Part of Me” She is the #1 seller on itunes from The Voice. Her song last week was pretty good, so I guess I understand it. Beef cake mic stand? I’ll take one in every color! Good thing they didn’t have to do that the entire song though. Their arms would have been extremely tired. I didn’t like the song at all. She had quite a few flat notes and I know that’s kinda her thing, but no. It seems everything that worked on “Somebody I Use to Know” was missing from this performance. Cee Lo says he’s never heard the song, but I think it’s because the original is completely different. Isn’t it on the radio all the time?

Chris Mann “Viva La Vida” Coldplay. Of course. I think it’s a pretty inspired song choice. It matches his opera thing better than just about anything else. He had some messy spots but overall he did a good job. I especially loved the sexy, “Addicted to Love” femme bot violinists. Though they couldn’t possibly find that many hot girls that can play the violin, could they? Adam wants him to keep singing Opera. Christina thinks that’s bullshit.

Group Performance “Fighter” Um..wow? The starting with Blake’s Hillbilly song was genius, and having her man candy rub up on him was HILARIOUS. I thought Xtina was wearing as little clothing as possible already, but she felt the need to shed her tiny, not really covering anything, vest, too. It seems she really wanted to show off her  newly toned body. I commend her for losing the weight, but I didn’t need to see it up close. I think Ashley and Chris did the best on their portions of “Fighter.” It was obviously not the song for Lindsey. Overall it was the Christina show as any song with her will always be.

Team Maroon 5 “Payfone” Eh…it’s fine I guess. Wiz Kalifa was there. Whatever. Though I could stare at Adam all day long. The man is fine.

Dramatic Live Elimination

Christina loves them all, blah, blah, blah, after all the bullshit she eliminates…Jesse Campbell. Color me SHOCKED!!!! I really didn’t see that one coming. I didn’t think he did very well, but I thought for sure she’d keep him. I guess she didn’t like his outfit either. Adam just said he could see Jesse winning the whole thing. Apparently Christina had other thoughts.

Blake is only given a few minutes because Xtina took an hour to make her decision known. He pretty much just comes right out and says he’s going with what America decided two weeks ago. Jordis Unga is going home. She was my choice and I think going with America was a good strategy. She also was the worst of the night (if you’re a RaeLynn fan.)

SO what do you think? Who was your favorite of the night? Did the eliminations shock you? Can Adam get any hotter? Let it be known in the COMMENTS!

I was more shocked about Jordis than Jesse, sort of. I thought Jordis did better for the night and has a better chance of winning it all, but I see where Blake was coming from.

I thought Jesse absolutely had a chance to win it all, but totally stunk in his performance, so I think everyone was shocked, but…that’s the way it goes I guess. One thing I thought was interesting was when Christina mentioned that some of the people on her team are more interested in her coaching than others…I wonder if Jesse didn’t like any of her comments or coaching notes or something, and she was finally just like “screw it.”

I think Adam and CeeLo both breathed a sigh of relief, because both Jordis and Jesse were big competition for their teams.

I didn’t enjoy the show as much as I usually do because I heard there were going to be instant eliminations. I felt that the people that were saved last week would be the prime candidates for eliminations  because they had the least votes last week.  This was true for Blake’s team who eliminated Jordis.  Jesse’s elimination did effect my mood because I felt he was one of the most talented people on the voice.  I noticed that at first Adam looked shocked but then he smiled. Maybe he feels his team has a chance now.  So surprised that that Blake saved Erin. I would have bet my income tax return he would have picked Raelynn. Maybe he was influenced by her “Heartache Tonight” performance.

I can see your point, but Adam was right. If you want to make sure the performances are great, and they aren’t just banking on getting saved by America, you make the stakes high. I don’t Jesse expected to go home in a million years.

I totally agree about Adam’s shock to smile. Jesse leaving was a great thing for his team, though he still has Cee Lo’s to contend with.

Glad I’m not the only one shocked by Erin’s save.

Christina must have make those comments about direction during the time I zoned out. It makes perfect sense though. The girl hates for attention to not be on her and I’m sure if you’re not going to take her direction she’s not going to keep you around. That is the beauty of The Voice. The mentors have the power to make or break you. It is cutthroat with half the team going each week.
